I am Almaas Masood, a Journalist, Photographer, and Researcher based out of Hyderabad, India. I focus on the relationships among economic and environmental change, human survival, and geopolitical landscapes with an emphasis on conflicts.
I am a self-taught photographer. I did my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Journalism, and Communicative English, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Multimedia Journalism from National School of Journalism, Bengaluru.
I have been a freelance journalist for the past four years with on-ground work experience across four South Indian states namely Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. I have worked with Mongabay India, Reuters, Rest of World among others.
I speak five languages, and multiple dialects. I enjoy learning about cultures through local food, music, and art forms. Lately, I have gravitated towards issues within the maritime domain and coastal communities of India.
